Activities At Home: Ice Cream-In-A-Bag

We are all spending A LOT more time indoors, these days. That doesn’t mean you can’t have some fun…scratch that…A LOT of fun!

Many of the activities that we do during our Summer Camp programs are useful for any day of the week, any time of the year. We wanted to share some of those with you as part of our new series, Activities At Home!

Our first activity is called: Ice Cream-In-A-Bag and is the perfect way to sweeten up any day!

Ice Cream-In-A-Bag

Ingredients

1 – Cup of Half and Half
1 – Splash of Vanilla
2 – Tbs of Sugar
1 – Cup of Ice Cream Salt (available at any grocery store)
1 – One-Gallon Sized Bag
1 – Sandwich Bag
Enough Ice to Fill the Gallon Bag
Duct Tape
Scissors

Once you’ve got all your ingredients, it’s time to make some ice cream!

Instructions

  1. Pour the half and half, vanilla, and sugar into the sandwich sized bag.
  2. Duct tape that bag closed.
  3. Fill the gallon sized bag up halfway with ice.
  4. Add the ice cream salt.
  5. Put the small bag with your ice cream ingredients into the larger bag with the ice and salt. Then duct tape the larger bag shut.
  6. Shake it until you make it…once the ice cream solidifies, you’re golden. If it doesn’t solidify, enjoy it as a milkshake!

If you’re more of a visual learner, we’ve got you covered!
