Being a CIT means…
Do you have dreams of being a camp counselor? Apply for Terrapin Adventures’ Counselor-In-Training program, where you will spend two weeks learning valuable leadership skills, all while having the time of your life on our one of a kind aerial adventure course!
Leadership Training – C.I.Ts will take a personality test and learn what their dominate leadership style is, how to care for campers, plan and lead activities, and what it takes to be a great camp counselor! Plan your very own camp activity with the help of your fellow C.I.Ts! Under the guidance of our Camp Director, C.I.Ts will plan a fun activity to lead for our younger campers.
Aerial Adventure Park – Zoom down our Zip Line, scream with excitement on our Giant Swing, test strength, courage, and endurance on our 43-foot Climbing Tower and three-tiered High Ropes Challenge Course and jump from the Terrapin Flyer!
Overnight Adventure – During the first week, Take the expedition to Patapsco Valley State Park to experience a night of Tent Camping! During their stay, C.I.Ts will learn how to set up a tent, cook over a fire, read a map, and other important survival skills. Afterwards, enjoy s’mores, songs, and an exhilarating night hike led by our knowledgeable camp staff! During the second week, our C.I.Ts step into their role as a counselor and assist with our overnight adventure for our younger campers!
Archery – Test accuracy with a bow and arrow under the supervision of our archery instructor! C.I.Ts will receive one on one attention while learning the basics of Archery with a compound bow!
Slingshotting – C.I.Ts learn how to safely aim with a slingshot under the instruction of our target sport specialists. Try your hand in our slingshotting range, using our high quality slingshots and safety gear.
Mountain Biking – Hit the trails for a challenging 12-mile round trip Mountain Biking adventure to Lake Elkhorn in Columbia, Maryland! Learn how to use their gears to navigate the trail and enjoy lunch in front of the scenic lake.
Kayaking – To cool off from the summer heat, we will meet at Scott’s Cove to paddle, turn, and stop our Kayaks while playing fun games on the reservoir!
Classic Summer Camp Fun – The fun continues with tie dye, slip’n sliding, and a tasty picnic, among other fun activities throughout the week!
