Ultimate Adventure Camp
July 30 - August 3 & August 6 - August 10 2012, 9am - 4pm
Every day we embark on a different adventure, learning new outdoor leadership skills. Boys and girls will have a thrilling week gaining confidence in their abilities while having a blast. Our camps are limited to 24 campers ranging from ten-fourteen years old each session so we can provide the highest quality personalized instruction and fun. With this limited availability you may want to act soon.
TA provides the gear; you provide the lunch and enthusiasm. We use a low camper to counselor ratio, which facilitates learning and assures personal attention. All our counselors complete extensive training including first aid & CPR.
Discover your child’s inner adventurer! Come join us and other young adventurers to explore and discover. Campers will be stepping outside of their comfort zones in our one of a kind Challenge Course. Campers will face their fears as they try to traverse and conquer all three levels of our 40 foot High Ropes Challenge Course. They will test their strength and courage on our 43 foot Terrapin Tower. With 12 different ways up & down including two rock walls, cargo nets, rope ladders and tires, and our gravity defying Rainbow Serpent; a 40 foot upside down crawl to the ground. After all the climbing, campers will get to leap off our 330 foot long Zipline soaring up to 20mph while flying through the woods. If that’s not enough of a thrill then our Giant Swing awaits. Here, campers will be pulled up to around 40 feet and then they will swing and endure 2 G’s of force while screaming with excitement.
Located along the Little Patuxent River in the Savage Mill woods, campers will be able to explore this area in many different ways. One day we will hop on our mountain bikes and explore the trails of the Patuxent while enjoying lunch and a dip in the river. Another day we will explore the surrounding area through geo-caching. Campers will go on a “treasure hunt” with electronic GPS searching for hidden caches while learning about the historic Savage Mill areaand the surrounding flora and fauna. Also, campers will be able to try their hands at rappelling down some of the local landscapes for a unique interaction with the environment. River tubing is a great way to beat the heat. One day during the camp week we will be floating down the Patapsco River while learning and exploring even more about the surrounding environments as well as the Chesapeake Bay Watershed and Leave No Trace Ethics. Our last day of adventure will bring us back to our main course where the campers will use everything they have learned and compete in our Terrapin Olympics with pizza party.
All camp staff is first aid and CPR certified as well as trained in all elements of our challenge course, bike trails, geo-caching and river tubing. We use a low camper to counselor ratio to ensure safety and lots of hands on fun. Campers will be given a list of what to bring each day. Campers will also have to bring their own non-perishable lunch each day except for the pizza party. Each Camper will also receive a Terrapin Adventures Ultimate Adventure Camp T-shirt.
Enroll early (before April 1) for only $395. After April 1st enroll for $425. Click here to sign up. You will also need to complete the attached forms and return them to us 2 weeks prior to camp starting.
