A Day in the Life…
Is it possible to have too much adventure in a single week? The only way to find out is to try Terrapin Adventures’ Extreme Adventure Camp!
Aerial Adventure Park – Counselors will lead campers through our 3-tiered High Ropes Challenge Course where they must traverse, climb, swing, jump and zip through 18 different obstacles! Next, campers will try and conquer all 12 routes up to the top of our 43-ft Climbing Tower. Campers will learn how to belay each other which, in return has campers working together and trusting one another.
They will fly 330-ft down our Zip Line at up to 20mph with their hair blowing in the wind. If that is not enough of a thrill, then the Giant Swing awaits. Campers will be pulled 40ft into the air, and just like that, they will swing and experience 2 G’s of adrenaline while screaming with fear and delight!
Mountain Biking – Another day entails a 12-mile mountain biking trip on some of the trails that run along the Little Patuxent River and Lake Elkhorn. Campers will eat lunch on the trail while also exploring and cooling off in the Little Patuxent River.
Kayaking – Adventure Expedition campers will learn how to paddle, turn, and stop their Kayaks while playing fun games on the reservoir! When we aren’t paddling, the fun continues with tie dye, slip’n sliding, and a tasty picnic.
Archery – Campers will also test their accuracy with a bow and arrow under the supervision of our archery instructor! Campers will receive one-on-one attention while learning the basics of archery with a compound bow!
Backpacking Trip on the AT & Caving in West Virginia – We cap it all off in epic fashion. We take campers on a 2-Day, 1-Night Backpacking Trip on the Appalachian Trail, followed by a Caving Trip in West Virginia. We provide almost everything needed including transportation. What campers bring: clothes, sleeping bag and a healthy curiosity about the great outdoors!
