Let Terrapin Adventures be your guide and unveil a bold universe of outdoor fun. Learn new skills while you explore local parks, rivers and the Chesapeake Bay. Each tour will need advance reservations that can be made online or by phone.

Guided Nature Hikes: Let TA take you through the woods. Our guides will share their knowledge of the history, geology, and local flora and fauna as we explore the woods in all seasons. See great blue herons, beavers, white tail deer, snapping turtles, foxes and more as we share the nature of Savage Park or Patuxent Valley State Park.


2 Hour Tour is $25. Minimum number for a tour is 4 guests. Maximum number of guests is 12. Book Now!

Geocaching: Find buried treasure as we teach you how to use a GPS system. It is loads of fun as we criss-cross trails, woods, and water to find hidden caches.

3 Hour tour is $35. Minimum number for a tour is 2 guests. Maximum group size is 12. Book Now!

Horseback Riding: We will take you through Patapsco Valley State Park. The horses are well behaved and you will enjoy the views in the park as you ride through streams, forests, and overlooks.

Cost is $60 for a 2 Hour Trail Ride. Must be 10 years old. Minimum of 2 guests for tour. For every two children under 14, an adult must accompany the children.

Fly Fishing Lesson: Let us teach you the art of fly fishing. We will take you on a four- hour journey learning how to read the water and environment as you perfect your casting technique. We provide the rod, reel, flies, snacks and license as we explore the Patuxent watershed.

Cost is $175 per person. Minimum of 2 people, maximum of 4.

Kayak Fishing Tour: Using our stable recreational style Wilderness Systems kayaks, you will be able to get to the best fishing spots. We provide all the equipment including kayak, paddle, PFD, fishing rod, lures, bait and license. We will show you how to cast and fish from a kayak.

Cost is $79.95 for a 3 hour tour. Must be 10 years old and tour requires a minimum of 3 people.

Sailing: Capture the wind as we sail on the Chesapeake Bay. TA sails out of the South River using 24 ft. sloops near Annapolis. They have small motors to get us out to the Bay quickly and on-board bathrooms for your comfort.

Cost is $250 per boat for a 4 Hour Sloop Tour. Must be able to swim. We can arrange a catered lunch. Captains are an additional $100 for a half-day tour.

Hobie Cats:
Rentals & Lessons: Our partner, Ultimate Watersports, provides exciting Hobie Cat Sailing. These 13' and 16' boats are fast, safe & responsive. Renters must wear supplied life jackets at all times and weigh a minimum of 60 lbs.
