The Chesapeake & Keys to a Sustainable Future

Local author and environmentalist, Ned Tillman will speak on the wonders of the Chesapeake Bay; what we can do to help out and save money.  Light refreshments will be served and Ned will be signing copies of his book The Chesapeake Watershed. Girl Scout Adventure Weekend

Clip in and take off on a high flying adventure.  Try all 32 of our extreme elements. Balance high above the ground on our High Ropes Challenge Course. Glide through the forest on our 330 ft. Zip Line screaming all the way. Try the challenging routes of the Terrapin Tower including head first down! Defy gravity as you experience 2 G's of force on our Giant Swing! Learn about different climbing gear, how to tie knots, and how to reduce your carbon footprint and live impact free! Terrapin & Hare 5K Mud Run

May 6th 8am

Terrapin Adventures is teaming up with Playworks DC to put together a 5K mud run to help raise money to bring recess to schools in the D.C. area. The Terrapin and the Hare Mud Run is a fun, high intensity, obstacle course run through the woods of Savage, Maryland. Starting at Terrapin Adventures, the Terrapin and the Hare will include 5 Kilometers of tough terrain and will contain obstacles such as, climbing walls, tires, webs, and, of course, mud. This race is not for the weak of heart. If you like a challenge and some food topped off with a beer from the Rams Head Tavern at the finish, then the Terrapin and the Hare is the race for you. A fun-filled evening of adventure while solving a murder mystery. You will have to ZIP, SWING and CLIMB to find the answers that will help your solve this Clue-based mystery. Our Adopted Terrapins

Bebop and Rock Steady, our two new adopted Terrapins, are prospering at their aquatic home at Arlington Echo.  They now mass 64 grams and enjoy eating small crustaceans and playing in the vegetation.

In 1994, the Diamondback Terrapin was declared the Maryland official state reptile. They can live up to 25 years and they are the only turtle that lives exclusively in brackish water.
