2 Day Backpack Appalachian Trail
Enjoy the rich history and beauty of the Appalachian Trail. Get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the Maryland section of the East Coast's signature hiking trail , the "AT", just 1 hour away from our base camp. TA's friendly & experienced guides will take you on a two day one night backpacking trip. There are plenty of stops along the trail with breath taking overlooks and we will provide hearty and delicious meals (2 lunches, 1 dinner and 1 breakfast). We will provide all the gear for your trip (tent, sleeping bag, thermarest pad, backpack, stoves or you can bring your own) so beginners are no problem. Each guest will be responsible for carrying their own gear and must be in good shape. We will hike 6-10 miles per day. Our 4 to 1 guests to guide ratio ensures that you will always get personal attention. Must be at least 12 years old and 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult. $199 per person including all gear, food, and equipment. Subject to cancellation if minimum number of guests (4) not met. There is a mandatory pre-trip meeting on the Tuesday prior to your trip and transportation to trailhead not included.
Adrenaline Rush Package
This package will have you screaming. Try all 3 levels of our high ropes challenge course. Balance on wire, wood and rope as you negotiate hair raising traverses. Then experience 2G's of thrills on our Giant Swing. Must be 8 years old, 70 lbs. and 48 inches tall. Cost: $55 an 8% savings over the a la cart prices.

Beer and Fear
Join Terrapin Adventures and the Rams Head Tavern for a special Beer and Fear Tour. Spend two hours taking the Terrapin Challenge. Scale the 43' tower, traverse all 18 crossings on our High Ropes Challenge Course, glide through the forest on our 330' zip line and experience 2G's of force on our Giant Swing. Then reward yourself with a mouth watering menu choice of six entrees paired with hearty samples of six different Rams Head Tavern Beers or house wine. Before/Post Care for Youth Programs
We provide Pre and Post Care for our Youth Programs. Including the School's Out Program as well as our Summer Camps. Pre-care operates for the hour prior to the program start. Post Care operates from program end until 5:30pm. For the School's Out Program there is a flat fee of $15. For our Summer Camps the cost is $60 for the 4 day programs and $75 for the 5 day programs.

Enjoy a 12 mile easy ride along the Little Patuxent River riding our comfortable mountain bikes over paved paths and hard packed dirt. Along with way we often see wildlife and learn about the history of the area. We arrive at beautiful Lake Elkhorn and travel around this lake for 2 miles enjoying the sites and sounds this park. Then we enjoy a short break along the lake side before heading back to our base camp at Savage Mill to enjoy a sample of beers and snacks. We provide bikes, helmet, instructions, food and drink and you complimentary bike water bottle. Must be at least 5 ft. tall and 21 years old. $59 plus tax. Find buried treasure as we teach you how to use a GPS system. It is loads of fun as we criss-cross trails, woods, and water to find hidden caches. 3 Hour tour is $35. Tour subject to cancellation if cumulative number of guests not met (4). Maximum group size is 24.
Intro to Caving
Discover a hidden world beneath your feet. Whether you call it caving, spelunking, or potholing you will experience the adventure of a lifetime. Our knowledgeable guides will introduce you to the basics of cave exploration, safety, and stewardship. Your trip includes hearty gourmet lunch, and all the necessary caving equipment (helmets, headlamps). You provide your own transportation. Must be 12 years old and minors must be accompanied by an adult. Cost $69 per person. Must wear long pants, shirts, closed toed shoes that can get dirty, and bring water. The temperature in the cave is a constant 50-55 degrees Fahrenheit year round. We recommend you bring a change of clothes, and leave your jewelry at home. Kayak Nature Tour
Come join us as we explore on of the gentle rivers in Chesapeake Bay Watershed, the Patuxent River. Our guides will teach you the basics of kayaking from paddle strokes to steering and getting in and out of your kayak safely. We use very safe and stable boats that track well and are responsive to your paddling efforts. As we paddle, our guides will share their knowledge of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. We often see many different kinds of birds, fish and turtles as we meander quietly on the water. We will stop along the tour, stretch our legs and have a snack. Your kayak is equipped with plenty of legroom, and dry storage for your personal belongings. 3 Hour Tour is $49. Add a picnic for $20/person (with a minimum number of 8.) Murder Mystery 6:30-10 pm A fun-filled evening of adventure while solving a murder mystery! The catch? You will have to zip, swing, and climb to find the answers that will help solve this clue-based mystery! Your night includes zany characters, yummy appetizers, delicious drinks, and prizes are awarded to the winners! Come in costume. Prizes awarded to the best! Tickets are $65 per person. Nothing could be finer than to float down the river on a summer day. It is fun and relaxing, but you will get wet! Self-guided tours float down sections of the Patapsco River. We will provide map, tube and life vest. $20 - Full day (up to 8 hours). If you would like us to drop you off and your tubes at the put in, the cost is $30 per tube with a minimum of 8 people. Then just deflate the tubes when you exit and put the tubes in your car at the put out & return to our base camp at Savage Mill by 5pm. Security deposit of $35 per tube is required. You MUST pick up your tubes at the rental time. No refunds will be issued for those who pick up tubes late if Patapsco Valley State Park closes. Must be at least 8 yrs. old, able to swim and all participants must wear provided personal flotation device at all times. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Soaring Heights Package
Enjoy the view from the top of our 43 ft. tall climbing tower. There are twelve ways up and down to challenge all kinds of climbers from beginners to those who like challenges. Our guides will give you pointers and encouragement. Your reward? A birdseye view of the Little Patuxent River. Then continue your package by gliding through the forest on our 330 ft. long zip line. Stargazing & Smores
Drink in the expanse of our universe with an illuminating night hike. Our well-versed guides will regale you with colorful stories of our constellations, and facts about our stars. After your hike we will roast smores over an open campfire and under the canopy of silver speckled twilight. Enjoy the best of camping all within a 2 hour tour. We provide the headlamps, smores materials, fire pit, and friendly guides. Then we shoot for the stars on our Giant Swing, screaming as we reach for the moon. Cost is $35 per person. Terrapin and the Hare Kids Adventure Race
On Sunday, August 21st at 8:30am and 9am come Run, Crawl, climb, jump and swing over nine obstacles through our Adventure Park at Savage Mill. Join Terrapin Adventures in our goal to raise money for Howard County Conservancy, a charity that supports environmental education for children There are 10 obstacles over a two loop course totaling 1 mile. A ropes course specifically built for children ages 5-10. The Terrapin Explorer has 22 different fun elements that you can walk, balance, swing, zip, and crawl through, including a 20 ft. high rock wall. One hour sessions. Must be 35 lbs. Cost: $25
See if you can scale the 12 routes up and down our 44 ft. high climbing tower. The views are great from the top where you can rest and relax under our canopy roof. You can see the Little Patuxent River from the top. Each of the four sides can accommodate two climbers at a time. TA employs auto belay systems for beginning climbers so you are completely safe as you tackle the challenging ascents and thrilling descents. For the more adventurous, TA has manual "just right" belay systems that it uses in its climbing lessons. We have flat routes for beginners and an overhang route for more advanced climbers. We have a vertical playpen with many interesting elements like the cargo net and dangle duo to enhance your climbing experience. For a unique descent, climb headfirst down the Rainbow Serpent or tube net. Ultimate Adventure Camp
June 20 - June 24, 2016 9am- 4pm June 27-July 1, 2016 9am- 4pm July 5- July 8,2016 9am- 4pm August 1- August 4, 2016 9am- 4pm Terrapin Adventures has a fresh camp with plenty of active fun. This five-day camp exposes kids 8-14 years old to all kinds of adventure including: Climbing, Zip lining, Giant Swing, High Ropes Challenge Course, Rapelling, Mountain Biking, Geocaching & River Tubing, Nature Crafts, Environmental Concepts. We divide the campers into two age groups: junior campers ages 8-10 and senior campers 11-4 years of age. All campers must weigh 70 lbs. (Junior campers will not do mountain biking). Just think of the stories they'll have to tell when they return to school! Adventure days will be under the guidance of the specially trained guides at Terrapin Adventures. Campers will learn climbing at Terrapin Adventures on the most amazing outdoor facility in Central Maryland. Each day campers will be dropped off and picked up at Terrapin Adventures at Savage Mill or Patapsco Valley State Park depending on which session they select. Cost: $350 before April 1st. Experience the thrill of gliding through the trees 30 ft. in the air at speeds up to 20 miles an hour as you travel on our 330 ft. long zip line. Guests glide along a suspended 1/2 inch steel cable using a pulley and comfortable climbing harness. Our Terrapin Rangers will make sure you are safely secure before you step off and experience the thrill of seeing the forest from a different point of view. First you cross a cable bridge to get to zip platform. Then you clip in and take off using gravity as your source of propulsion. You end up safely on the ground asking, "can I go again?"
